Border area mail
The border area rate (Kleiner Grenzverkehr) allowed the sending of letters and postcards to Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland at domestic rates (with some small differences on heavy items), only if both the sender and addressee lived within 30 km of the border.
